Spring Planting
Spring is a wonderful time of year at nursery. As the weather begins to warm and the days grow longer, it provides the perfect opportunity for children to explore nature and learn about how plants grow.
Planting activities are a fantastic way for children to learn through hands-on experience. They discover where food and flowers come from, learn how plants need sunlight and water to grow, and begin to understand the changing seasons.
The children carefully filled their pots with compost, planted their seeds, and watered them. There was lots of excitement as we talked about what might grow and how tall the plants might become. We will be keeping a close eye on them and watching for the first green shoots to appear.
Gardening also helps develop many important skills. Children practice fine motor skills while handling seeds and soil, learn patience as they wait for plants to grow, and develop a sense of responsibility by helping to care for the plants each day.
