At Central and Ashgate, we welcome children and families from all backgrounds and aim to make the admissions process as simple and supportive as possible.

We accept children aged 2-5 years.

Children are able to attend flexible sessions from 8am - 6pm.

Our provision follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring all children receive high-quality early education and care.

We offer FREE places for children who are eligible for government-funded early education, including free Childcare from aged 2 for eligible families.

Applying for a place at our nursery is simple…

Step 1 – Enquiry
Contact the nursery to check availability and arrange a visit.

Step 2 – Visit the Nursery
We encourage parents and carers to visit the setting, meet our team and see our learning environment.

Step 3 – Complete a Registration Form
Parents complete a registration form and provide the required information about their child.

Step 4 – Confirm Your Place
Once a place is available, we will confirm the start date and arrange settling-in sessions.

Before a child starts, we offer settling-in sessions to help them become familiar with the environment, staff and routines. These sessions help children feel comfortable and confident when they begin attending. We are committed to providing equal opportunities for all children and families and follow the principles of the Equality Act 2010.

Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are warmly welcomed, and we work closely with families and professionals to ensure appropriate support is in place. Please take a look at our SEND page for more information.

If a place is not currently available, we will add your child to our waiting list and contact you when a suitable place becomes available.

Places are usually allocated based on:

  • Child’s age

  • Session availability

  • Date of application
